Overview

Overview of Cisco Catalyst C1000-8T-E-2G-L 8-Port Gigabit Managed Network Switch | New

The Cisco Catalyst C1000-8T-E-2G-L 8-Port Gigabit Managed Network Switch has eight Gigabit Ethernet ports that are compatible with wired devices like computers, network attached storage, and more. For high-speed uplinks, two 1GbE fiber SFP / copper RJ45 combo ports are available. Secure connections, clear communications, and link aggregation to create up to eight port groups for multi-Gig connections to compatible devices are among its extensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 features. Its 20 Gb/s switching capacity and 14.88 Mpps forwarding rate also contribute to the smooth and reliable transfer of data. Configure and monitor the Cisco CBS350-8T-E-2G and its connected devices using the Cisco Business Dashboard portal and mobile app. The fanless design reduces power consumption while allowing the switch to operate in the background quietly.

Key Features of Cisco Catalyst C1000-8T-E-2G-L 8-Port Gigabit Managed Network Switch

Performance

The C1000-8T-E-2G-L has an 800 MHz ARM processor and 512MB of memory, which work together to provide smooth and reliable data transfers with a switching capacity of 20 Gb/s and a forwarding rate of 14.88 Mpps.

Extensive Security

Support for IEEE 802.1x and port security restricts access to specific network segments, whereas web-based authentication provides a consistent interface to all types of host devices and operating systems.

Advanced defense mechanisms such as dynamic Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) inspection, IP Source Guard, and DHCP snooping aid in the detection and prevention of network attacks. When these protocols are combined, they are known as IP-MAC port binding (IPMB).

The IPv6 First Hop Security suite includes ND inspection, RA guard, DHCPv6 guard, and neighbor binding integrity check to protect your IPv6 network from address spoofing and man-in-the-middle attacks.

IPv6 Support

The Cisco C1000-8T-E-2G-L switch allows you to evolve your network while remaining compatible with previous-generation IPv4 networks by supporting the IPv6 standard.

Layer 3 Static Routing

Dynamic Layer 3 routing features include the ability to segment your network into separate workgroups and communicate across VLANs without degrading application performance, allowing you to manage your switch's internal routing while dedicating your router to external traffic and security.

True Stacking

Reduce network complexity while increasing control over a growing network by configuring, managing, and troubleshooting all switches in a stack as a single unit with a single IP address. True stacking also offers additional benefits such as cross-stack QoS, VLANs, LAGs, and port mirroring.

Compact Design

The C1000-8T-E-2G-L has a sleek and compact 1 RU design that allows it to fit into wiring closets and other installations in retail stores, offices, and other businesses.

Energy Efficient

Support for the Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) standard reduces energy consumption significantly by monitoring the amount of traffic received by an active link and putting it to sleep during downtime.
