Microsoft Teams Introduces New Features for Advanced Calling
Microsoft Teams is always adding new features and functionalities to better serve organizations as well as small businesses. Microsoft Teams revealed their updated roadmap earlier this month, outlining the release of four new advanced calling features: location-based routing, call park, shared line appearance, and group call pickup.
Group Call Pickup
This is an improved version of a current feature that Teams provides. Calls can now be automatically forwarded to groups of coworkers by users. You have the option to call each group member individually or concurrently. Notifications and appearance customizations for your participants are also accessible.
Call Park
Users can now put a call on hold and send a text message to an assigned employee who can then answer the call in the Teams app.
Shared Line Appearance
Make user accounts that have several phone lines. You can program your incoming calls to be automatically routed to the designated users. With the help of this tool, you can delegate call answering and making to others.
Location-based routing
Limit the call routing between VoIP and PSTN endpoints according to the callers' location. This call management feature establishes call authorization rules based on the caller's location and manages the call routing that the Teams server does for you.
