Overview of Ubiquiti Networks EdgeSwitch 48-Port with PoE 500W (ES-48-500W) | Like New

The Ubiquiti Networks EdgeSwitch 48-Port with PoE 500W (ES-48-500W) is intended to serve as the network's backbone. This high capacity Gigabit switch has 48 10/100/1000 Mb/s Ethernet ports, two 1/10 Gb/s SFP+ Ethernet ports, and two 1 Gb/s SFP Ethernet ports. Each port has a separate LED indicator that shows the PoE status as well as the port's speed, connectivity, and activity. This Layer 2 switch has a total non-blocking throughput of 70 Gb/s, a switching capacity of 140 Gb/s, and a forwarding rate of 104.16 Mp/s, allowing for a quick, uninterrupted flow of data out to end users.

Along with improved networking capabilities, the EdgeSwitch ES-48-500W includes optical fiber backhaul through two SFP+ connections. To provide a smooth, steady flow of data, these ports support uplinks of up to 10 Gb/s. With auto-sensing IEEE 802.af/at 24 V passive PoE capability, you may easily power your PoE compliant devices directly from the EdgeSwitch. The EdgeSwitch's functions may all be simply managed using the provided advanced user interface. Administrators can configure and monitor their network using an easy-to-use graphical user interface, or they can use the command-line interfaces provided by telnet and SSH.

Key Features of Ubiquiti Networks EdgeSwitch 48-Port with PoE 500W

Advanced Switching Technologies

Ubiquiti Networks EdgeSwitch, part of the EdgeMAX product range, allows you to build and grow your network. The EdgeSwitch is a PoE+ Gigabit switch that provides robust performance and intelligent switching for expanding networks. The EdgeSwitch delivers a comprehensive set of advanced Layer-2 switching functions and protocols, as well as Layer-3 routing capability.

Switching Performance

The EdgeSwitch has a forwarding capacity of up to 70 Gb/s, allowing it to process traffic on all ports at line speed without packet loss.

PoE+ Flexibility

To simplify your infrastructure, the EdgeSwitch models provide 48 PoE Gigabit Ethernet ports with auto-sensing IEEE 802.3af/at or programmable 24V Passive PoE. By default, the EdgeSwitch identifies 802.3af/at devices and provides PoE to them. Manually enable 24V passive PoE devices via the EdgeSwitch Configuration Interface.

Fiber Connectivity

The EdgeSwitch gives fiber connectivity alternatives for expanding networks. The 48-port variant has two SFP and two SFP+ ports for high-capacity uplinks of up to 10 Gb/s.

Comprehensive User Interface

The EdgeSwitch Configuration Interface is a graphical user interface that administrators can use to configure and monitor switch features. For advanced users, telnet and SSH provide an industry-standard command-line interface (CLI).

Powerful Functionality

The EdgeSwitch uses an enhanced operating system that provides basic switching features, PoE configuration per port, and a variety of advanced features including:

• MSTP/RSTP/STP
• VLAN, Private VLAN, Voice VLAN
• Link Aggregation
• DHCP Snooping, IGMP Snooping
• TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1X, MAC Filtering, ACL
• DiffServ, CoS • Static Routing, Policy-Based Routing
