The Cisco IP Phone 7821 (CP-7821-K9) features a 3.5" graphical display, programmable line keys, wideband audio support, multiple ring tones, and a full-duplex speakerphone, as well as a two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch and PoE (Power over Ethernet) support, allowing the phone to be connected to both data and power over a single cable.

Programmable Line Keys
You can program keys to support either the line or call features such as speed dialing. Using the multi-call per-line appearance feature, you can also increase productivity by handling multiple calls for each directory number. This feature is supported by tri-color LEDs on the line keys, which make the phone simpler and easier to use.
Fixed Function Keys
Allows you to access service, messaging, directory, hold/resume, transfer, and conference features with a single click.
Ergonomic Design
The phone has an easy-to-use interface and a user experience similar to traditional telephony.
Graphical Display
Scrollable access to calling features and text-based XML applications is available via the white backlit grayscale display. Global users are served by localized language support, including right-to-left onscreen text.
Handset
The handset is a standard wideband-capable audio handset (connects via an RJ-9 port), is hearing aid-compatible (HAC), and complies with the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) loudness requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Section 508 loudness requirements can be met by using industry-standard inline handset amplifiers like the Walker Equipment W-10 or CE-100. The dial pad is ADA-compliant as well.
Backlit Indicator
Backlit indicators are available for the audio path keys (handset, headset, and speakerphone), select key, line keys, and message waiting.
Volume Control
A volume-control toggle allows you to easily adjust the volume of the handset, monitor speaker, and ringer.
Full-Duplex Speakerphone
Allows you to be more flexible when making and receiving calls. When using the speakerphone mode, the audible dual tone multifrequency (DTMF) tones are masked for added security.
Bezel
It comes with a replaceable default black bezel. A silver bezel is also available as an option.
Dual-Position Foot Stand
Viewing angles of 30° and 45° are supported by the two-position foot stand. The foot stand can be removed for wall mounting, and mounting holes are located on the phone's base.
Wall-Mountable
The phone can be wall-mounted with an optional wall-mount kit (sold separately).
Electronic Hook Switch
A third-party headset connected to the auxiliary port can be used to control the hookswitch electronically.
Multiple Ring Tones
Ring tones on the phone can be customized by the user.
Directories
The phone recognizes and categorizes incoming messages for users on the screen. This makes it quick and simple to return calls via direct dial-back. The corporate directory integrates with the standard directory Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
Quality-of-Service (QoS) Options
The phone is compatible with CDP and 802.1q/p standards, and it can be configured with an 801.1q VLAN header containing the VLAN ID overrides configured by the admin VLAN ID.
Configuration Options
The user has the option of configuring IP address assignment statically or via the DHCP client.
Ethernet Switch
The phone has two RJ-45 Ethernet ports, one for the LAN connection and the other for a downstream Ethernet device connection, such as a PC.
Power Requirements
The phone is an IEEE 802.3af PoE (Class 1 device) that requires 48 VDC. An optional AC-to-DC power supply (CP-PWR-CUBE-3=) can be used to supply power locally at the desktop. The power supply must also be used with one of the corresponding AC country cords.
Energy Efficiency
A standard power-saving option is available to save money and maximize energy efficiency by reducing power consumption during off-hours. The phone is ENERGY STAR certified and supports Cisco's EnergyWise.
